Bird Box Project, 5th August 2010
We have today placed 21 nest boxes into Killiechronan Oak Woods, suitable for Redstart, Spotted and Pied Flycatcher in the hope of attracting Pied Flycatcher to breed. The current status is of 'passage migrant' with one or two sightings each year. We have excellent habitats here on Mull.
I would like to thank the Killiechronan Estate for allowing us to place these nest boxes which will in future years, we hope, bring pleasure to many bird watchers visiting Mull to see other than Sea Eagles. Big thanks also to John Preston and Owen Tyson for building the boxes and Pete Hall for helping to place them.
