Yesterday evening (27 February) a 2007 white tagged immature sea eagle came into roost near Loch Frisa. It had a radio on it and is believed to be one of the east coast released birds. All the Irish releases are accounted for. Despite searching this morning there was no sign. We (probably Matt Wilson/Sue Dewar) hope to try and track it with a radio receiver later today but it could still be on the move. It flew in (with a 2006 yellow tagged bird and a 2005 red tagged bird) from the south (Aros Bridge end) and all had full crops so they may be feeding on something at that end of Glen Aros. If you're out and about please keep a special eye out for this bird. The radio aerial may be visible on the back, I thought it showed up very well but it will depend on how it's flying/perched; the tags are white and there are black bars above and below the letter/number - see first picture here and see second picture here. It would be great if someone could read the tag! Many thanks.
